Today, I am at home with my family waiting for Hurricane Ida to make landfall. We are on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain, and should not be getting hit as hard as people who live on the coast.

Right now, nothing is happening where we live. We have all of the supplies that we need and are well-prepared. We simply have to wait out the storm and keep our two, little boys (4 and 2 years old) from getting to frightened by the storm.

Hopefully, there will not be too much damage done in the surrounding areas. We do not tend to flood where we area at, but many of the surrounding areas do and will most likely flood, have a lot of wind damage, and have the electricity go out. There are also many people here and in hospitals fighting COVID-19. I pray that they are safe.
