We are doing ok after hurricane Ida hit Covington, Louisiana. We have been without electricity for several days now, but have had no damage to our house. People in other areas have no electricity, gas, their house flooded, and have no food. Conditions are unlivable and people had to be moved to shelters in other areas. I pray for their and everyone else’s safety.
People who did not evacuate are the ones who probably did not have the means to do so or may have had family sick with COVID and could not leave. Natural disasters like this are always a time of sorrow, but I know that there are many people out there who are working hard to restore our infrastructure and help those in need. May God bless them.
Update: Electricity was turned on later yesterday evening. All is well at our house, though many people are still in need of help as the infrastructure of South Louisiana is still in the process of being rebuilt. I pray for their safety.
