“A butterfly could flap its wings and set molecules of air in motion, which would move other molecules of air, in turn moving more molecules of air – eventually capable of starting a hurricane on the other side of the planet.” – Edward Lorenz

Edward Lorenz was laughed out of the conference at the American Association for the Advancement of Science for his prediction because it was initially made about weather. However, later on, physicists found his theory to authentic, accurate, and viable and named this effect “The Law of Sensitive Dependence Upon Initial Conditions” or The Butterfly Effect. They stated that The Butterfly Effect engages with the first movement of any form of matter.

This law has also been used as a metaphor in many other contexts. However, one must not over use it if in search of the most accurate depiction of the lesson. One should keep in mind that this metaphor, when thought of in the context of what the butterfly effect actually is, is simply stating that the world is complex, but what you do matters. You matter. Bless you for being here.
