In the 1986 movie, Labyrinth, a girl named Sarah travels through a maze to save her baby brother from the goblin king who wants to turn him into a goblin.
The goblin king’s physical labyrinth was actually a maze in that there was many different paths that one could take to get to the center, whereas a unicursal labyrinth has only one path an can be solved by running one’s hand along the wall while walking through it. The “labyrinth” was in Sarah’s mind. She solved it by discovering that the goblin king had no power over her. She loved her brother and was her own person.
This has been one of my favorite movies since childhood. It is very interesting with a lot of puzzles to solve, plenty of adventure, and wonderful lessons. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys thought-provoking, fantasy movies.
