This is the Hall of Mosses located in the Hoh Temperate Rainforest in Washington state.
This forest has many unique lichens in it such as lettuce lichen and some interesting animals such as the Northern Spotted Owl, the cougar, and the bobcat.
The Hoh Rainforest is also the setting of the novel, “The Other”, by David Guterson. In this novel a young man decides to live in isolation in the forest and becomes known as “The Hermit of the Hoh”.
